About the role
Paytm is hiring an Area Sales Manager for its Merchant Lending business, covering Coimbatore (the posting also lists Madurai). This is a sales leadership role: you will grow loan penetration among merchants, push lending products such as merchant loans, BNPL and overdraft lines, and cross-sell Gold SIP and insurance. You will recruit and manage a field team of 5 to 10 team leaders and over 100 indirect staff, and monitor repayment behaviour, documentation and onboarding quality.
What you will do
- Grow merchant lending penetration and credit distribution in the assigned geography
- Drive visibility and deployment of merchant loans, BNPL, QR-linked credit and overdraft lines
- Cross-sell Gold SIP, insurance and other merchant financial products
- Recruit and manage a field sales structure of 5-10 team leaders and 100+ indirect employees
- Monitor portfolio quality, including repayment behaviour, fraud checks and documentation, and audit loan files
What we need from you
- Experience as a sales leader and people manager in lending or field sales (years not stated on the posting)
- Ability to define territories, funnel metrics and targets for team leaders
- Ability to mentor and manage a large on-ground team
- Full-time, on-site role
