About the role
AIIMS Mangalagiri's Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF), run under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction with Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment support, is filling two Senior Resident (Medical Officer) posts on a purely contractual basis. The medical officer provides assessment and diagnostic services, initial short-term and long-term pharmacotherapy for substance-use disorders, referrals, community clinics and awareness activities, and assists the nodal officer in running the facility day to day. Selection is by walk-in interview on 10 November 2026 at the Administration Block, AIIMS Mangalagiri; candidates must report by 8:00 am with the filled application form and documents.
What you will do
- Provide assessment, diagnosis and pharmacotherapy for substance-use disorder patients
- Run referrals to higher centres and other departments, including social-need referrals
- Conduct community clinics and awareness activities to improve help-seeking
- Register new and follow-up patients, maintain clinical files and prepare periodic reports
- Assist the nodal officer in day-to-day management and supervision of the ATF
What we need from you
- MD/DNB postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry from an NMC-recognised institution
- Desirable: post-doctoral/fellowship qualification including PDF/DM in Addiction Psychiatry; research publications; mental-health project experience
- Upper age limit 40 years as on the date of interview
- Attend walk-in interview on 10.11.2026 by 8:00 am with application form and original documents
