About the role
The Department of Clinical Microbiology & Integrated Stewardship Laboratory at AIIMS Mangalagiri is hiring two Project Technical Support-II staff for the ICMR-funded INHIBIT Study, an antimicrobial-resistance research project. The technician prepares and processes MIC strips per validated study protocols, handles media and antibiotic stock preparation, strain preservation, AST/BMD work and laboratory inventory. Applications (updated CV in the prescribed annexure) must be emailed by 13 October 2026, 5:00 pm; document verification is onsite at the Admin Block on 21 October 2026 from 8:00 am, followed by the exam/interview the same day. Engagement is purely temporary/contractual under ICMR project HR guidelines.
What you will do
- Prepare and process MIC strips as per validated study protocols
- Conduct AST/BMD work and maintain strain preservation
- Prepare media and manage antibiotic stocks for the laboratory
- Manage lab equipment handling and inventory, and maintain study records
What we need from you
- 12th in Science plus Diploma (MLT/DMLT/Engineering or equivalent) with 5 years' relevant experience, OR a three-year graduate degree in a relevant subject with 2 years' experience
- As per ICMR's June 2026 rationalisation, postgraduate degree holders in the relevant discipline are eligible without mandatory experience
- Desirable: experience in clinical bacteriology research, AST/BMD, media/antibiotic preparation, inventory and computer applications
- Upper age limit 30 years (relaxations per GoI/ICMR rules)
